UJVN is India’s earliest and largest hydropower company, long committed to sustainable energy development. The company’s 36-story headquarters has many rooms with limited sunlight, leading to low moods among some employees and occasional cases of depression. To improve the work environment, UJVN purchased and installed five Parans SP4-40.2 natural sunlight systems, with a total of 400-core energy fiber optics, delivering 250,000 lumens of visible light / 3,000 watts of full-spectrum natural sunlight across approximately 1,000 square meters. This setup also saves around 20,000 kWh of lighting electricity annually.
Employees reported that the sunlight creates a warm and comfortable atmosphere, noticeably improving work efficiency and boosting mood, while helping to reduce depressive symptoms.
It should be noted that the project uses intelligent hybrid lighting. When natural sunlight is insufficient or absent, LED lights automatically activate to supplement the sunlight, maintaining a constant indoor illuminance.
