About Parans
Parans introduced fiber optic solar lighting in 2003, transforming how natural light enhances indoor spaces. The first version of our patented technology, the Parans system, was commercialized in 2004. This innovative solution was developed through extensive R&D with Chalmers Technical University in Gothenburg, Sweden, setting the foundation for sustainable lighting worldwide.
The founders of Parans had a strong passion for innovation and how technology could improve the world, but also how you could use the nature as inspiration to develop the technology; like a sunflower following the sun during the day using the sun maximum to prosper. The Parans system was conceived from a desire to improve the possibility of bringing sunlight into classrooms and to improve the indoor environment. There were also a desire to help the construction industry to use materials effectively in the construction of large buildings, without compromising the amount of natural light in the building.
Today when the world aim to reduce its footprint, Parans’ solution is more topical than ever. To use the sun as a light source is healthy, sustainable and smart. Parans delivers fiber optic solar lighting to bring natural light deep into buildings, redefining the definition of windows. Increasing energy levels and productivity among employees while opening up new possibilities within the building. Parans has today the fourth product generation Parans system – SP4 – on the market, with the ability to lead the sunlight 100 meter in and through a building. This means 30 floors down. This product area, is mainly offered by Parans to property owners, architects and larger employers worldwide.
Development History
2003
Parans was registered and established.
2004
Paras' first patented-technology product SP1 was successfully commercialized. The technology of product was developed through cooperation with Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden.
2008
The Parans technical team created the world's first LED city.
2010
Parans was listed on the Swedish capital market.
2018
Parans launched the fourth-generation product SP4 with excellent performance on the market, which can lead the sunlight from the roof of the building 100 meters deep into the underground space through the high-energy optical fiber.
2020
Chinese shareholders strategically invested in Parans.
2021
Parans light Technologies Qingdao Co. td. (PLT) as a joint venture was founded in Qingdao, China, being responsible for the development, manufacturing, marketing and sales of Parans sunlight systems globally.
